We all do it. Every single day. We choose something to wear, sometimes going through several outfits and sometimes feeling like it’s all kinda blah.
Or is that just me?
I’ve chosen to simplify my wardrobe, inspired greatly by the French women’s ten item seasonal wardrobe. I know what outfits look good on me, what accessories work well together and how I feel in those outfits.
And then I call it done. I don’t fret about all the latest accessories, or colours. I stick with classics: scarves, boots or flats, leggings/skinny jeans, and shirt dresses. It’s my uniform and I find it refreshing.
This fall, I’m wearing a lot of the same clothes over and over again, with slightly different accessories to switch it up. They’re comfortable for sitting on the floor or chasing little people down the hall, but they also help me feel not so blah when we go out into the wide, wide world.
Chambray shirts are super in right now (in case you hadn’t noticed) and this is my take on a classic yet trendy look. It works for me and I don’t fuss about all the other looks. It’s refreshing and leaves me space to focus on the really important things of life like holding my husband’s hand and making my little girls giggle.
Do you have a uniform? What are your favourite ways to stay refreshed with what you wear?
